Levothyroxine Sodium Tablets
Levothyroxine is a synthetic form of thyroxine (thyroid hormone).Levothyroxine is used as a hormone replacement for patients with thyroidproblems treating hypothyroidism.
Levothyroxine Sodium Tablet is also frequently used to treat goiter because it usually lowers the levels of thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH), a hormone that is considered goitrogenic. Levothyroxine works by increasing metabolic rate, with increase in cardiac output, O2 consumption, body temperature, blood volume, growth/development at cellular level.
