Clarithromycin Tablets
Clarithromycin is in a class of medications called macrolide antibiotics.Clarithromycin works by stopping the growth of bacteria. Clarithromycinis used to treat certain infections caused by bacteria, such as chronic bronchitis, pharyngitis, acute maxillary sinusitis, tonsillitis, pneumonia(especially atypical pneumonias associate with Chlamydia pneumoniaor TWAR), and infections of the ears and skin.
Clarithromycin is also used to treat and prevent disseminated Mycobacterium avium complex (MAC) infection (a type of lung infection that often affects people with HIV). It is used in combination with other medicines to eliminate H. pylori, a bacteria that causes ulcers.
