Chloramphenicol Tablets
Chloramphenicol is a bacteriostatic antimicrobial. It is considered a prototypical broad-spectrum antibiotic, alongside the tetracyclines.Chloramphenicol is indicated for severe infections such as Haemophilus influenzae and typhoid.
Chloramphenicol Tablet is effective against a wide variety of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, including most anaerobic organisms. Chloramphenicol interferes with the production of proteins that the bacteria need to multiply and divide. This prohibits the ability of the bacteria to grow and therefore stops the spread of the infection.
