Isoniazide Tablets
Isoniazide (Isoniazid), also known as isonicotinylhydrazine, is an organic compound that is the first-line antituberculosis and antibacterial medication in prevention and treatment. Isoniazid is recommended for all forms of tuberculosis in which organisms are susceptible.
Isoniazide is recommended as preventive therapy of tuberculosis in: persons with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection and persons with risk factors for HIV infection; close contacts of persons with newly diagnosed tubercultestosis; recent converters, as indicated by a tuberculin skin test; persons with abnormal chest radiographs that show fibrotic lesions likely to represent old healed tuberculosis; and persons with the increase risk of tuberculosis.
