Oxaliplatin Powder for Injection
Oxaliplatin is an analog of cisplatin, the first successful platinum-containing anticancer drug. It works by killing cancer cells.
Oxaliplatin is to be used together with other drugs as adjuvant treatment for stage III colon or rectal cancer in patients who have had surgery to remove the cancer. Oxaliplatin has also been used in advanced ovariancancer and has been tested with some results in head and neckcancers, skin cancer, lung cancer, and non-Hodgkins lymphomas.
