Tetracycline Capsules
Tetracycline is a broad-spectrum polyketide antibiotic produced by the Streptomyces genus of Actinobacteria, indicated for use against many bacterial infections, including pneumonia and other respiratory tract infections. It is a protein synthesis inhibitor.
Tetracycline Capsules are commonly used to treat acne, infections of the skin, and, more recently, rosacea, and played a historical role in reducing the incidence of mortality because of cholera.
Tetracycline is used to treat infections, such as urinary tract infections, gonorrhea, chlamydia, and the infection that causes stomach ulcers, Helicobacter pylori. It also may be used as an alternative to other medications for the treatment of Lyme disease and for the treatment and prevention of anthrax (after inhalational exposure).
