Artemether Tablets
Artemether is an antimalarial for the treatment of multi-drug resistant strains of falciparum malaria both in adults and children in areas where there is multidrug resistance. Artemether is highly effective against the blood schizonts of both malarial parasites P. falciparum and P. vivax. It is applied in combination with lumefantrine in clinical treatments ofmalaria.
Artemether was found to be an anthelmintic in the early 1980's. Laboratory experiments have confirmed the broad spectrum of activity against different trematodes, including all human schistosomes, Clonorchissinensis, Fasciola hepatica and Opisthorchisviverrini.
Artemether has been shown to have significant anticancer and antitumor activities in patients with advanced and metastatic cancer.
