Chloroquine phosphate is in a class of drugs called antimalarials and amebicides. It is used to prevent and treat malaria. It is also used to treat amebiasis.

Chloroquine Phosphate Oral Suspension is used in the treatment of severe malaria, especially severe falciparum malaria when Plasmodium falciparum is sensitive to chloroquine when the patient is unconsciousness, repeated vomiting and is unable to swallow.
