Albendazole is a broad spectrum anthelmintic or anti-wormmedication effective against: roundworms, tapeworms, and flukes of domestic animals and humans. Albendazole Oral Suspension is a member of the benzimidazole compounds used as a drug indicated for the treatment of a variety of worm infestations.

Albendazole is also used to treat cystic hydatid disease of the liver, lung, and peritoneum, caused by the larval form of the dog tapeworm.
