Product Information

Promethazine is an H1-antagonist with anticholinergic, sedative, andantiemetic effects and some local anesthetic properties. Promethazine is prescribed for treating nausea or vomiting, motion sickness, and allergic reactions and for sedation.

Promethazine Tablets are used for perennial and seasonal allergic rhinitis, vasomotor rhinitis, allergic conjunctivitis due to inhalant allergens and foods; amelioration of allergic reactions to blood or plasma; dermographism; preoperative, postoperative, or obstetric sedation; prevention and control of nausea and vomiting associated with certain types of anesthesia and surgery; active and prophylactic treatment of motion sickness; and antiemetic therapy in postoperative patients.
